How the solution to this problem works is, during an attack the cylinder front simply breaks the off along the shear line.  The attacker cannot get a second attempt as the rest of the cylinder is now below the door surface and away from harms way.  The cylinder remains in a safe locked secure mode and is still operable with your key.
